CNY day 1 started when i woke up from a bad dream. no dying this time though. bad omen? i dunno. went out for breakfast and my mum asked if i wanted to follow her and my grandma *who is visiting from malaysia* to temple to pray. on a normal day, i would probably say smt like
"For what? i have better things to do with my time" *roll eyes*
However, just as i was about to say that, i suddenly remembered boon telling me that i shld go bai bai at a temple because of my bad dreams. Now i am not a superstitious person and i dun really believe that dreams have anything to do with reality *no offence to boon* however, i did not really planned to do anything in the morning other then watching some depressing as hell anime called elfen lied. so i tot wad the hell, wads the worst that could happen?
and the worst that could happen was armageddon. have u ever seen a video of a volcano about to erupt and spewing tons of ashes in to the sky, only to have them fall on the nearby villages silent hill style? Yea that was what happened. except on a much smaller scale.

This was the size of the joss sticks. we had to buy and light them way before entering the temple because there were too many ppl. everybody was holding at least 3. btw the temple was some famous guan yin temple at rochor road area.

Now if evrybody is carrying those mini weapons of mass destruction over their heads as seen in the picture, where does the hot ashes drop to? To the ppl around them of cos! and it didnt help that it was a rather windy day... maybe the gods find some sort of humour in occasionally witnessing some1 dance in pain as the ash lands on their hand, neck, feet and *gasp* face. Dun worry none landed on my face, but i was burned on my feet and hands..
ok so the crowd slowly moves into the temple...and there is a big urn for u to put ur joss sticks in. my family were 1 of the last few ppl to go into the temple and i was shocked at wad i saw....A FEW MEN WERE TAKING ALL THE JOSS STICKS IN THE URN AND THROWING THEM AWAY!!! i was amazed at wad they were doing so i tried to take a picture, however they spotted me and told me NICELY that photography is not allowed in the temple. oh well...since they said it nicely...it would be weird to protest... not to mention i will be making a fool out of myself in front of the gods...or buddhas? wads the diff lol...

I took this photo of the next batch of worshippers as my family exited the temple from the side. look at them...rushing to put their joss in the sacred urn...only to have them thrown away in the end...
after that we went to another temple at toa payoh to pray again *in case buddha didnt hear us the first time?* when we finally went home, i was feeling very drained for some reason. My father said that it was because the temple had removed all the negative energy from me and wad remains is all the good and positive energy. wow, does that mean ive been running on so much negative energy all these while? =.= Now i know where my bullshiting genes come from. btw when i visited those 2 temples i did not really pray or anything because i was too distracted/amused by the serious faces of all the ppl praying etc my grandma
Went home eat lunch, slp a while, went gym, ate steamboat for dinner. parents asked if i wanted to follow them go to the floating platform see the lights. on a normal day, i would probably say smt like...wad i said above. but then, it was either watching the depressing anime, study for my mid sems or go out with them. So i tried to remember wad econs taught me about opportunity cost. in this case, my best alternative would be watching the depressing anime so i made a rational decision to follow them.
ooooo the floating platform brought back bad memories of my worst and longest birthday ever ....as well as my F1 deployment. which was last year. bad memories that make me feel like laughing now. anyway i will let the pics do the toking.

If i am not wrong, my vehicle was parked somewhere here. i feel like an old man thinking about the past like this =.=...

reminds me of hamsters...sort of how ppl playing frisbee reminds me of...dogs? LOL

This is literally, as they say it in chi...ren2 san1 ren2 hai3

I posted this here because it reminded me of smt i read in facebook recently: The panda is the least racist animal, because it is black, white and asian!!

Now this god of fortune was spewing gold glitter everywhere. see those ppl puting thier hands up as though they are at some rock concert? they are trying to catch those glittery stuff. notice the guy with the upside down umbrella. he had definitely got things figured out.

this neat looking model is actually made of porcelain plates, cups and spoons.

My mum is a tiger. you really dun wan to make her mad. unless u are me of cos. which is a diff matter altogether because u can't help it.

My youngest bro and my dad are rats.

my 2nd bro is a monkey. apparently now he is saying there is no point studying hard for his A levels because of wad the career part says hahaha imagine my mother's reaction to that!

snake is me!! as well as most of the ppl reading this blog i presume. notice how short our horoscope is as compared to the others!! well at least the career and wealth part bodes well...but wads with the relationship part??? =.=
these are the zodiac of my family. i did not take photos of the rest because...seriously...it is so freaking crowed moving from 1 point to another was like swimming on land.
