School is really killing me. Taking UGC 211 and Philo is really no joke. There are so many readings and so many mini essays i have to do almost every week. Whats more i have a MGA teacher who thinks he is some genius and always teaches in the abstract.
Anyway this s just some random post. I saw this comic strip last month and thought it made me smile, so i hunted it down to share it. Maybe its got something to do with all the seemingly pointless readings i have to do.
SOMETIMES life is a bitch and you just want to shout it all out. Or maybe you want to share something that is special to you. This is where i do it. This is my story.

An agnostic view of religion
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
~Marcus Aurelius~
I have finally finished every book in the Chronicles of Narnia, except for one book that predates the story in the first movie. anyway its is really an interesting read. It is a very christian book. take like the rebirth of Aslan the lion for example, he died for a traitor and was reborn. And then in another book Aslan told the girl that he was always by her side, even in the darkest of times, and that he exist in her world, except he is called by a different name. And let us not forget the references to adam and eve.
anyway, after reading the last chapter of the last book i understand why some Christians called heresy on the books (on the internet). But then again, some ppl say the harry potter series are satanic or smt too. anyway i took out a part (for ur reading pleasure) that i feel is an interesting view of religion. However, just some context before u read the except:
There are many kingdoms in the world of Narnia. For this except u only need to know 2 of them. one of them is Narnia the other is Calormen. The narnian's revere Aslan (not worship, basically they just tell stories of the great aslan), While the Calormens worship the god/deity/demon Tash with temples and sacrifices.
SO the Calormens invade Narnia and the leader said he did not believe in Aslan or Tash or whatsoever. Somehow, this summons the god Tash to a stable where the Calormene leader said that "Tashlan" (he was trying to convince the narnians that Tash and Aslan were the same) was residing, not knowing that the god Tash was really inside.
SO the Calormene leader sends his people into the stable to act and pretend that they have seen the mighty "Tashlan", but everybody who was sent to the stable never came out. Then amist the confusion, King Trilian, the king of Narnia jumped out of the bushes where he was watching the whole act in disgust, and the last battle of Narnia took place.
The except below is taken from a lit website:
During the last great battle of Narnia on Stable Hill between the faithful Narnians and the Calormenes, King Tirian finds himself fighting against the Calormene leader, Rishda Tarkaan. At length, the pair fights just outside the stable door. Tirian, knowing that Rishda wants to shove him into the stable where the wrathful Tash is waiting, leaps into the door and pulls Rishda along with him. Although Tirian expects to see the inside of the dark, dingy stable, he instead finds that he is in a beautiful, luscious land. There he reunites with Eustace, Jill, and all of the other people involved in Narnian adventures of the past. They meet with Aslan and watch the ending of the world of Narnia. Aslan then tells them to come further up and further in. As Tirian and the others follow Aslan, they come across a Calormene soldier, Emeth, who had previously entered the stable with the wish to meet the great Tash but instead had found himself meeting Aslan in this land. Emeth relates the story of his meeting with Aslan to the others:
"Nevertheless, it is better to see the Lion and die than to be Tisroc of the world and live and not to have seen him. But the Glorious One bent down his golden head and touched my forehead with his tongue and said, "Son thou art welcome."
But I said, Alas, Lord, I am no son of thine but the servant of Tash.
He answered, "Child, all the service thou hast done to Tash, I account as service done to me."
Then by reasons of my great desire for wisdom and understanding, I overcame my fear and questioned the Glorious One and said, "Lord, is it then true, as the Ape said, that thou and Tash are one?"
The Lion growled so that the earth shook (but his wrath was not against me) and said, "It is false. Not because he and I are one, but because we are opposites, I take to me the services which thou hast done to him. For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore if any man swear by Tash and keep his oath for the oath's sake, it is by me that he had truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then, though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted. Dost thou understand, Child?"
I said, "Lord, thou knowest how much I understand." But I said also (for the truth constrained me), "Yet I have been seeking Tash all my days."
"Beloved", said the Glorious One, "unless thy desire had been for me thou wouldst not have sought so long and so truly. For all find what they truly seek.""

court martial
It was 9am on 16 january 2012. that was last monday, as well as my first day of school. it was a pretty normal morning, and i was kinda stoning as i had just woke up. i was planning to go town with jia yun after school to shop for cny clothes and so was wondering if i shld wear my office wear there so that i can look for a suit set or blazer.
then, my handphone rang. It rang with an omnimous and haunting music that sends chills down the spines of many (like literally cos my ring tone is from a horror movie lol) And so, i picked up the call. It was a male voice, and he asked if i was me, to which i said yes. And then he dropped the bomb by saying:
" hi im calling from CBRE HQ, do you know that u are due to be court martialed tomorrow?"
I was momentarily stunned and asked him to repeat wad he said and his identity. It then came all back to me. right, my ippt cheating case. i asked him why i was not informed of this charge and court martial earlier and he said that i should have gotten a letter. i asked him how serious was it and he said: " since this is court martial, its pretty serious". he then asked me if i wanted to get a lawyer or anyone to represent me. I told him i dun know wad to do and he told me that it would be best for me to represent myself, as no one really knows wad happen. He then told me to meet him at the court martial place at kranji camp II and to call him if i have any other further questions.
After i hung up, i immediately messaged king and my dad to see if any of them recieved the letter or call. my dad said he never and king say he did not get any call. it felt as if someone had suddenly kicked me in the face. the incident was so long ago and there was no news of anything for like 4 months. I even tot they had forgotten about it! So i cancelled my date and went home straight after school to work on my defense, polish my boots, iron my uniform. could not sleep. too stressed
so anyway the next day i went to the kranji camp 2, which is where the court martial center was, and coincidentally where my brother was posted to. before i left, my father passed me 1k in cash in case i need it to pay the fine (maybe to bribe too? lol). I reached there at about 9am and waited till about 10 30 before the trial commenced. The captain and 2nd lieutenant from 39 sce who accompanied me were quite nice. after sorting out the details with the prosecutor, they told me that by book i shld be fined only about $500. the officer also volunteered to pay the fine for me first since they do not accept cash payments.
Anyway the place basically looked liked a common court room, with a special holding area for criminals such as myself and a jury stand for family members. So apparently i was to stand trial with king, but his unit never informed him. the prosecutor sounded very angry when she was told that. anyway i stood trial with another guy who assulted his officers. He was cuffed and came from a holding cell with bars. he even had to sit on the floor of the holding cell. i dunno why he kept smiling at me though i wanted to smile back, but i told myself i needed to give the super humji act repentant face just in case so i keep looking down.
anyway after all the talking and yes sir no sir i accept sir, i was sentenced to a fine of $500. despite it being a hefty amount, i was kinda relieved that it was not more. so i went to the office and waited to make payment with the officer who agreed to pay for me first. There i heard like 3 ppl talking very angrily. after listening awhile, i gathered that they were probably talking about king's camp. apparently its not the first time they fail to respond to the letters they sent or smt, and they were quite pissed.
so yea after the whole deed was done, i cabbed backed to school for lesson from 12 to 5.30pm. It was a long day indeed. everybody kept asking me if i reservist (cos i was wearing my army uniform) and no one believed me when i said i kena court martialed. its not really a proud thing to boast about but hey, i dun see a point in hiding it, in fact i think hiding it will make me feel worse.
well, this is a lesson learnt though. I returned my dad the 1k he passed to me cos i could not accept paying for my own mistake with his money. On the bright side, i wonder if one day i am gonna look back on this whole incident and laugh lol
but for now... sigh...500 dollars..

Ok fresh post
SOOoooo to continue from where i left off, in my previous post as well as after my return from Vietnam.
arrrrrgghhhhh just realize i forget to do a post on king's bday! ok here is a short summary of the highlights. it was fun. I had fun. food was bad. engaged in some philophical debate at rochor tau hui. destroyed some make up thingy of yun ting due to applying of brute force on the darned cover that refused to open. Eventually learned how to open the make up thingy properly. end. moving on
ok so basically, i spent much of the holidays playing this old crappy game called battleon. actually, its a really boring game. but during the exam period it seemed so interesting for some reason. tis, the art of procrastination. At least during the finals period i knew that i had to study at some point and was able to force myself to work my lazy ass. but after the exams, i became very sian of life and wasted my time away playing this crappy game. Jy was in bali so there was like no one to stop me lol. Soooo all those things that i wanted to do, like cleaning my room and reading of books and even downloading of better games took a back seat. Man i swear that this battleon game has some weird enticing effect on me.
yea so after that awful vietnam trip. guess wad i did? yep u guessed it! i went back to playing that game! but luckily thos few days in vietnam, despite it being horrible, had managed to shake me off the game a little. So i went to the lib, borrowed a few investing books and forced myself to read them.
And maaan, it was the hardest shyt ever. Its not that i dun understand wad the book is saying. its just that whenever i try to get myself to read the book, i suddenly feel like checking facebook or 9gag or smt. Even that shitty game seemed interesting again. speaking of which, the game is now so boring that after i log in, i feel bored. haiz. it seems that i am having some attention span malfunction over here.
Anyway, i went to USS last sat for mediacorp family day. The whole compound was booked solely for mediacorp family and friends. nth much to say here since i went there many times liao. I and my brothers took a very funny pic at the mummy ride, will post it later. oh and if u haven tried it yet, the new transformer ride is p.r.e.t.t.y awsome. At first i tot it was gonna be some ordinary simulator ride that discovery center and science center has. but it is really much more awesome than that. The ride is really, how do u say it, more than meets the eye ;) It is still a simulator though, not a roller coaster or whatever-you-call-the-mummy-ride. so its pretty mild. heck, even my mum took it 3 times lol

This are really old pics. ive uploaded them sometime in dec before christmas but never really got around to posting it. I have been very lazy with blogging, as well as doing anything productive. my stable was and IS still in mess and... ok my whole room is still in a mess lol. ANYHOW, let me get to clearing the clutter in my dashboard first, then i will get about to blogging proper =)
SO the first few pics are from awfully chocolate aaaaat east coast road (had problems recalling where lol) well, nth much to say here other than that it was my mother who wanted to try that place for desert (we had dinner around the area) although we just had a pretty hearty meal. In the end she only ate like half of her cake and we had to finish up for her. sigh.. women...
the next few photos are from ippudo at the madarin gallery, u know the super atas place just next to cine? it was recommended by my brother's gf for serving good ramen. my mother (again) had a craving for ramen so we came here to try it out. I must say, the ramen is really not bad; now im not a ramen connoisseur or anything but i will describe the ramen there as having the right mix of saltiness, thickness and flavour. In short, its good but expensive =)
