Last post for the year

Hi guys, its me again. It seems that i will not be back  for christmas and the new year celebration, so there you go! An early christmas and new year greeting! =D

So here is to wishing all my friends out there...

A VERY MERRY BERRY LARRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Btw i saw that on my dining table and asked my mum if i could have it. I have never eaten a gingerbread man before and all the gingerbread men in pop culture have made me very curious as to how it will taste like! will it taste like ginger? will it taste like bread? that's y its called a gingerbread man right? lol

...

...

...

... taste like chicken  mooncake crust... i think i got scammed =(

Alright anyway, just a few days ago, i was browsing through the Times magazine and saw this rather short but interesting article. Apparently there is this service in europe where you sent ur favorite soft toy there, and for a small fee, someone will take it on a tour around the city/cities, and take shots of ur soft toy posing with the background of whatever scenery or landmark there is.

Here are some samples:

haha interesting right??? if you wan know more, the link is over here: http://barcelonatoytravel.com/

yea... so i was thinking of trying that out haha. I will be bringing along my little green friend over here..

... whom i shall name ..... little scrump *or xiao scrump lol* to Europe! =D

if circumstances allow, etc weather, time, if i can get the camera from my brother/parents etc... i will attempt to take pics of xiao scrump too! *probably better than taking photos of myself in a gay female windbreaker zzz*

anyways, as mentioned in the heading, this is gonna be my last post for the year. so yea... hope you guys and gals enjoy ur holidays and sorry i cannot be around to share the joy!

Have fun!!!

King's 23 birthday celebration

17 dec Friday was definitely a frigging long day.

Had my last paper on statistics a 10 am, finished it in 30 mins. Left and went to the library and tried to sleep on the sofa. couldn't because some christian group was singing Christmas carols outside the library. Met weisian, wai mun and ben at about 11 plus and then went around orchard looking for a place to eat. after that walked NON STOP *almost* around the whole of orchard *the whole is subjective* to look for king's present.

I was SUPER SHAG to the max. We then rested and waited at ion's swensons for king for about an hour plus and then followed him to the Sony shop at wisma and then all the way to borders at wheelock, where wai mun and ben ABANDONED US TO OUR FATES as i, ws and king crumbled onto the floor and just died there for 30 mins or so. well, actually i was reading a encyclopedia about DC comics while King and ws were discussing about their future. as in, their carreer goals lol. I feel out of place haha.

wen hui arrived at arround 7 30 i think but it was probably later and we went to dynasty paradise for colorful xiao long baus. jealous much? dun be, it was quite expensive and we cant really taste the different flavors. ok i am not exactly a food connoisseur and i dun really appreciate the craze about xiao long baus but i could not tell the difference between the xiao long baus they served with others sold elsewhere.

The different flavours include, truffle, foie gras, cheese, roe, etc

This egg dish was good! the white part actually consists of egg whites and fish and soy sauce and other stuff that makes it nice!

LEGEND OF XIAO LONG BAU SIA

Wing chun anyone? Exaggerated words need to be accompanied by exaggerated behavior.

cant... take... the.... exaggeratedness..... *summons a legendary dragon ball*

nom nom nom

Anyway downloading and converting videos for my the psp is really a bleddy pain in the ass.

im just saying zzzzzz

Hi all, i haven been online for so long because ive been playing maple story. I have actually been playing like a few days before my UGC exam cos i was really sian with the studying. maplesea has really added alot of new stuff in the past few years and its actually pretty fun. easier to level, increased drop rates, not to forget the new quests and classes. ok i sound like im advertising for maple now lol.

Actually, the real reason y i am playing it is because my brothers are playing. its fun to hunt and trade equipments with each other and do single and party quests together. yea so when my brothers are not playing  also dun feel like playing. either way, unlike wad most ppl assume, i am not letting maple run my life. i still allocated time for myself to study and i am still keeping to my run/gym everyday exercise regime. The only things i have sacrifice so far is watching tv and practicing my guitar, which i am now trying to find time to do as well lol.

K enuf about maple, my exams have just ended and my holidays have officially started!!! *the unofficial holiday as declared by me was after the last day of school* Now i need to prepare for my trip to europe, which is on the 21 December. I am coming back on 1st January afternoon, that means i will be there for about 2 weeks. its going to be winter there but i dun think majority of the places i go will have snow. Either way, i still need to pack winter clothes and my mum insist that i wear this windbreaker which i think is for females. Its the one i wore to Hokkaido last year. I look back at my pictures and i am appalled on how gay i look with that windbreaker. *i supp i look gay in other pics but those were intentional* i want to go buy winter clothes but its around $170++ for a single jacket wtfff. so i guess i am probably stuck with that stupid ugly white windbreaker...

alright thats probably all the updates for now. Today i actually went to this place called dynasty dragon restaurant or smt. Freaking long story and i need to play maple now lol. i will upload pics as soon as wh uploads them on fb =))

Marina Bay Sands Buffet

Had a buffet at Marina Sands Bay Hotel for $70!! well, its supp to be more but we were "sponsored" about 10 to 20 dollars by Benjamin parents. Lol, its so nice to have a rich lau pa haha. anyways the food there was pretty normal. Everything there, from the layout of the place to the assortment of food looked very good, however when it came to the taste test, i will say it just merely passed. The raw oysters, though fresh, were puny, and most of the other food were pretty bland in taste. I did liked the fresh sashimi and the mango sago though =) Maybe the desert counter would have made up for it, however i did not get the chance to try the different assortments of cakes cos i was so damn full because Ben took so many jackfruits and i had to help him finish ><

Anyway, $70 is really too expensive for the quality of the food provided. I'm not saying that its bad, but i think there are better places that serve the same kind of food or better, but at a cheaper price *maybe 50 to 60 dollars?*

after that we went to the skypark *ben had a hotel key!*. oh btw we were at the buffet restaurant from 7 + to 10 30 lol. yea so it was quite late when we went up the sky park and the observation deck was closed, and so we just walked along the swimming pool area. nth much to see though. The view of the skyline wasnt as bright and spectacular as i tot it would be. Also, i was so damn full i could not walk properly haha.walked around for about an hour or so, then we went to chill out at the Singapore river there, enjoying the emptiness of the place, the cool breeze and soft jazz music playing from hidden speakers in the bushes. pretty romantic right?? hahaha

oh BTW as we were on the elevator going down from the skypark, i was toking showing ben and wei sian the pictures in the camera. An ang mo couple who was in the elevator with us ask me wad language i was speaking lol. Ben said English and then they seemed surprised haha. then i told them i was speaking Singlish lol. So pai seh la hahahaha. oh well...

Flea market at Haji lane

Benjamin and I tried to sell of our stuff at wenhui's stall at the flea mart on sunday. benjamin was selling second hand accessories and i, soft toys =) Actually we never do much, just guarding/patroling/running errands lol. anyway manage to sold off 2 of my soft toys, the scrump and the cinnamonon*well, the name is smt like that lol*, as well as a small dog soft toy. It was an eye opener and has inspired me once again to work on my next venture =))

Marriage in America

There was a 8 page article in the November copy of the Times magazine. it was toking about the relevance of marriage in America and it gave some interesting statistics.

In year 1960, 67% of those aged 20 - 30 were married; in 2008 just 26% were.

US college graduates are now far more likely to marry (64%) than those with no higher education (48%)

In year 1960, the median household income of married US adults was 12% higher than that of single adults, after adjusting household sizes. By 2008 this gap had grown to 41%.

The Divorce rates in 1978 was much higher than it is today. Divorce rates have sort of reached a plateau. this is because divorce rates among college graduates are declining while those at the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum are rising. no stats given however.

Basically this means that in America, the richer and more educated one is, the more likely he or she is to get married, be married and stay married.

Or conversely, if one is married, he or she is more likely to be well off.

interesting no? lol

Repentance

First off, I would like to apologize to everyone whom i have insulted, consciously or unconsciously, directly or indirectly. I have been so caught up in my own self centeredness that i have failed to consider the feelings of many people. Many a time have i said insensitive things and pushed people to conform to my ideal, due to my misguided attempts to impose what i believe was the best for them. I have come to realize that it was selfish of me to do that, as everyone is different and unique in their own way. Each individual has the right to their own beliefs and values, and i do not possess the right to force my own values on them. Once again, i would like to say sorry to everyone whom i have cause unnecessary emotional stress, as well as humbly asking for forgiveness. Sorry.

Re: (all) hey it was just another misunderstanding

"I cannot remember when was the last time i started an argument with someone. Sure... there are times where ppl say things that offend me, but i always tell myself to question the person's intentions first. wad is the point of getting angry and snapping at the person, only to realise it is just a case of miscommunication or misunderstanding, and then having to apologize ... or not *because some ppl's ego are too fking big*. It is just stupid. a waste of time and energy." ~ earlier post~

deja vu? Wad has to be said has already been said.

Logic and emotion

The world used to be ruled by logic.

logic triumph all arguments

people talked, reason and questioned with no regards

"Convince me!" they shouted, "and i will do ur bidding."

The world lived in order; you were either right or wrong

Then emotion came,

and it challenged everything logic stood for

Emotion was erratic, unpredictable and uncontrollable

At times, it act as a formidable wall, in which no amount of logic would be able to penetrate.

At times it explodes with such force, overwhelming any form of logic.

It was an impossible battle,

no way could logic overcome the sheer intensity of emotion.

Emotion won

and so the current world came to be.

where one wins just because one is in a bad mood

where wars of cold silence are drawn long and harsh

where wars of emotional outbursts erupt abruptly and violently

There was no head or tail to every argument

as every tale began with the slightest provocation, and ended with no conclusion.

Logic had lost

and emotion now rules all arguments.

And that as they say, is that.

Demon gate

I am not 100% sure, but i seem to remember coming across the term "demon's gate" or smt like that as i was reading up on Fengshui sometime during my secondary school period. Basically it refers to a window, door, toilet sink or smt that brings u bad luck.

well, there is a demon gate in my room. I dunno if it has actually brought me bad luck and all * i mean this things are hard to quantify* However it has definitely brought me much stress and agony. The demon gate is the huge window in my room.

from 8 to 12, be it am or pm, countless evil spirits and what not come in and defile my room. From 8 am to 12 pm, the window faces the direct sun. I am not exaggerating when i say this, but it as though the sun god apollo is sitting right outside my window. if my blinds are opened, it is no different from sitting in an open field with no shade. oh wait actually i rather sit in a open field with no shade. y? cos my room has this amazing tendency to trap heat. the heat generated by by the light gets accumulated in my room and turns it into a giant oven. oh did i mention about the time my mother went to mop my room and lifted the blinds? i went in 30 minutes later and it felt like a god damn sauna.

ok so what about the evening? from 8pm to 12 pm? hohoho it gets better. In the evening, for reasons that i am unaware of, Insects flock into my room like a swarm of locusts. These spawn of Satan come in all shapes and sizes. Bees, wasps, flying ants, beetles.... Can u imgine how annoying it is? here i am minding my own business in my room and.... OMG THERE IS A GIANT WASP IN MY ROOM!!! Even if its not a bee or wasp, it is still very annoying to have flying insects flying around ur computer. And for some reason, the insects do not go to the other rooms but specifically home in into my room.

Convinced it is a demon gate?

so recently i have been taking steps to mitigate this problem, shifting my bed, leaving only 1 window open, closing blinds. i have been contemplating getting some mosquito netting but haven got around to doing it yet. Anyway, just the day before yesterday, i told myself that i  could not take the goddam morning sweating sessions anymore, and so after the sun had set, i took steps to rectify the problem.

Ta da! as u can see i have pasted newspapers and my accounting homework all over my window. well, except 1 cos i dun think i will open that window anyway. Now u may be thinking that it looks dam ugly. actually, i agree with that. but i will also rather sleep in a trash can if it is going to be more comfortable than my room.

Now the reason i did this is to filter out the laser beams being admitted from the morning sun, as well as to allow me to open the window for ventilation. U see, i could easily have just closed my blinds to stop the sun from getting in. However, my blinds are not permeable. so it sorts of traps even more heat in my room when i close it.

So today is the first day i am testing the newspaper plastered windows and wah la! it is working perfectly! well, except for the smell of newspapers lingering in my room.... but hey! it has made my room a much more hospitable environment to live i.

TAKE that demon gate!!! =)

life is not as easy as it seemed to be

Everybody has their own philosophy in life. i am no different. some ppl turn to religion.... well, i used to do that too until i realize that it doesn't matter wad/who u pray to. In the end, it is the person himself who decides how to treat the world and himself. religion provides a set of examples and rules to follow. sadly, most dun.

Anyway, I have always been fascinated by wise words and quotes, no matter where they come from; be it the bible, games, movies, smt i have read or perhaps just smt i created myself. Now for the past 21 years of my life, i have trying my best to live by this quote.

"do unto others what you wish to be done unto you"

Its smt i heard long ago so i dunno where did it come from *though i am sure one can easily Google it* Basically, what it means it that, However you wan to treat someone, always put urself in their shoes first. This has been the core principle in which i have live my life trying to adhere to when it comes to dealing with ppl, although not always successfully. Anyone who claims that i do not do so, is insulting me, because I do it all the time; even though there are occasionally times that i forget, in which i always do my best to make up for it.

of cos this is just a very fundamental explanation. And there are a few exceptions that i have allowed myself to make, which many ppl may not agree with me, such as "an eye for an eye". However, recently i have decided that it is not worth the time and energy.

Anyway, just as i have decided to stop holding grudges against ppl *actually i still hold grudges, but i am more willing to let it go* i have realized that i cannot live by the above mentioned quote anymore. I have realized that people do not care how YOU wan to be treated. They only care about how THEY wan to be treated. Just 2 semesters back, the econs teacher pointed out this problem. he said " the golden rule does not apply in the world of customer service. Instead, the rule should be changed to "do unto others what THEY wish done unto them!""

However, i feel that this not only applies to the world of business but to the world around us as well. If it were a perfect world, and everyone follows the same rule, then perhaps the golden rule will work. However, this is not the case as i see it. Most of the arguments and misunderstandings against me comes from my stoic  following of this rule. take the most recent case for example. I, being a friendly guy just says hello to a friend. BUT apparently, the friend, whom for whatever reason dosen't like to be said hello to, thus leading to an argument, or misunderstanding, whatever u wan to call it.

ok so assuming u argue that i did not know the friend does not like to be greeted. ok fine, and assuming now the friend tells me that he*i'm a sexist, i always use "he"* does not like being greeted or say talked to. so what do i do the next time i see him?

1) greet him? well that would probably lead to some kind of conflict again.

2) ignore him? well then it would be wierd right? and what kind of friendship would that be?

now this situation may seem ridiculous. so lets put in a more practical example.

ur good ol pal is knocking his head with a hammer. Now i am pretty sure most ppl would prob go "hey wtf are u doing brrooo? stop doing that its not cool!" or smt like that. Now then the guy starts arguing with u about y he likes hitting himself on the head with the hammer *stupid argument but i'm just trying to paint a scenario that you are so darn sure that if u were doing it, u would want someone to stop u*. He continues to tell u that he has been doing it for years, and nothing has happened to him to him so far, other than the occasional bleeding and waking up with a terrible headache. He claims that the pros outweigh the cons. the pros being well .... able to sleep better? and getting better results in school. i'm just saying.

so what are you going to do the next time u see him pulverizing his head?

1) continue asking him to stop.... and risk ruining ur frenship?

2) tell him he is doing a good job and to keep it up..... against ur own principles? *i am assuming that ur principles stop u from hitting urself on the head with a hammer*

Of cos there are other options but i'm trying to prove a point here. U see the dilemma? Oh i forgot to add that he mentions that all his friends are doing it too and in fact, doing it better!
U realize that PERHAPS to that fren, he may know that it is wrong, but circumstances are forcing him to do so. but to u, or me or whatever, the scenario just seems so obviously wrong.

SO wad is the best choice for this kind of scenario?

A reminder to myself, and everyone out there

He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
he who
rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
-Proverbs 16:32

The bible has good quotes I  must say.

Just to note though, being slow to anger is one thing, bottling up ur anger is another

It is actually much harder to fight an enemy within, then an enemy without.

In the end, he who masters his emotions, masters his life.

FRREEEEDDOOOOMMM!!!

freedom had never tasted so sweet.

U guys have no idea. Since last last week, i had practically been slaving over work projects and what not.

2 weeks ago i had to study for 6 long chapters of UGC (history) and there had also been some issue with my brother that scared the shyt out of me kept me awake for the next few nights.

After that, it was the planning of boon's 21st birthday party at st games, and preparing for 1 accounting presentation, 1 ugc presentation next week *which is this week* and my accounting midterms, which is on the same day as the ugc presentation *which is today* and now, ITS FINALLY ALL OVERR!!!!

seriously. now i feel so happy that i can just lie on my bed and just enjoy the feeling of happiness!!

Actually it had really been a tough 2 weeks for me, juggling the planning of the party, making of the "memorable gift", and dealing with schoolwork. A lot of things annoyed me alot; things that shld have been a hell lot easier if ppl had actually cooperated with me. I so so so so so so so very much wanted to rant it out somewhere, but then if i did so boon would probably fell bad so i didnt. so i was planning on doing it today, but then now i feel so happy that i just cant express my grievance properly lol

This kind of ecstasy comes only once in a blue moon. So i suppose i will leave those rants for later. why spoil the good mood? =D

ahhhhh it sure feels good to have nothing to do!

misunderstandings

I cannot remember when was the last time i started an argument with someone. Sure... there are times where ppl say things that offend me, but i always tell myself to question the person's intentions first. wad is the point of getting angry and snapping at the person, only to realise it is just a case of miscommunication or misunderstanding, and then having to apologize ... or not *because some ppl's ego are too fking big*. It is just stupid. a waste of time and energy.

*this is the most important point of this post, the rest are just rants*

My primary school prayers

In the name of the Father
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit

Amen

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Do not let us be tempted
but deliver us from evil

Amen

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women
and blessed is
the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners
Now and forever and ever

Amen.

In the name of the Father
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit

Amen

the haze

Everybody is complaining about the haze. well, except me. I am actually grateful for it. lol. the haze is good. for my sleep lol. You know, one of the reasons i wake up early is because my window is facing the morning sun. this turns my room into a *censored* sauna in the morning. my bed used to be right beside my window till about 1 month ago, where i shifted it such that it is perpendicular to my window, so that i dun wake up next to a radiator *my window* in the morning. but this brought about a new problem. now in the morning, the gap between the 2 blinds always guide a beam of direct sunlight right into my unsuspecting face! It is really nasty way to wake up. i wonder y they never include this as a method of waking up in inception. =/ i think i'm gonna suffer from eye cataracts soon. anyway, after the haze came, the beam of light is not as strong, and my room is cooler now. i think the last time i slept so soundly was, i dunno, in camp???

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Those who know me know that i am not easily spooked, but last friday i witness 2 incidents that scared the absolute crap out of me. during those moments of shock, my logical reasoning failed me and i started believing in the supernatural. the psychological memory of it still haunts me even now. It is hard to tok about it. But after thinking about it many times, my faith in science and logic has strengthened. It is fear and unfamiliarity that breeds superstitions like ghosts, spirits, demonic possessions. Everything has a logical explanation to it.

There is no such thing as ghosts, only the fear of what we do not understand.

whenever i have wax on my hair and i'm about to bathe, i like to push up all my hair *like the above pic* to see how messy and long my hair is. sorry did i say hair? i meant my mane.
anyway its been quite a busy week for me so far. other than sch stuff, i still had to make a few trips to the Malaysian High Com to renounce my Malaysian citizenship. ok actually it was only 2 days. after that i still had to go to the passport place @ lavender MRT to swear allegiance to L** empire in order to retain my Singapore citizenship. sorry wad? i meant swear an oath to the Singapore flag. after that still need go downstairs and make passport. after that i still need to go down another day to collect my new passport. after that next year still need go back to Malaysia High Com to officially get the official document that confirms my renunciation. SO FIGGING MANY things to do in order to get a STUPID citizenship. jeez

ok wad else? oh yea, just so u understand my plight, the strings on my classical guitar finally snapped. ok actually it was only 1 string. yea so i had to lend my new and expensive and beautiful acoustic guitar to yh. u know? cos she is learning and dosen have a guitar. and u know, that guitar is basically my other half so im kinda missing it. anyway this gave me the motivation to finally restring my classical guitar. i mean, i haven changed the strings for like 4 years already. it's surprising how i was still able to play it. yea and restringing a classical guitar is kinda diff from a acoustic guitar because u have to tie knots on the both ends..... whch is alot harder than it sounds. anyway here is the result.

well u know which side i started from right? lol. oh well, it still sounds normal. To celebrate the revival of my classical guitar, i shall do a cover a long overdue song. As u all know, classical guitars are meant to be plucked not strum. so yea. here you go, bizarre love triangle unplugged lol

You got to admit, the hat rocks =)

Just when u tot that everything has been settled sui sui, life just has to throw some shyt to screw u up.

today i was trying to settle on a date when everyone is free to meet to try jamming. it is kind of like playing lottery in some way. i message ppl and pray that their free days coincide with each other. to my pleasant surprise, everybody was free on wednesday!!! there was no need for me to beg, persuade, blackmail or kill anyone! =D

wow that was really so easy, but u know wad they say, if smt seems too good to be true, it prob isn't. As i was eating out with my family, i suddenly remembered that i had to collect some documents regarding my citizenship issue. And yep it was on wednesday. the raringly rare day that everyone is really free *as in dun need go off early etc* Totally ruined my appetite and mood. which really sucked since it was a birthday treat from my parents at a expensive restaurant.

now i have to go about messaging everyone again.=((

unresolved issues

hi guys, guess wad my second brother's pm was yesterday?

"walao so now im the head of the household, nice nice. my parents are having fun in osaka now -.-"

just to update u guys, my parents left on fri night to japan for some company trip and are now back in sg.

anyway regarding the statement above, it really speaks to show wad kind of person my brother is. responsible and proactive. these are really good traits to have! even i as the eldest in the family sometimes envy him for that. it does not take a expert to know y my parents are so proud of him. He was the one who, together with my youngest brother went to wash and hang the clothes while my parents was away. i myself am quite laid back, i have enuf clothes *all my ns shorts and singlets ;)* to last me till my parents return home so i did not bother with doing of laundry. everything went well until my parents came home just now. well, except for that statement above.

dun get me wrong, i have nothing against him declaring himself as head of the household. well, other than feeling that he is kinda prideful. Then again, wad do u expect from someone who posts his O level grades on his blog? *think he got 7 points, he is really smart* the statement actually reminded me of a quite recent incident that happen last dec when we were on a holiday in japan. to put things shortly, he started shouting at me about how i did not fulfill my role as a elder brother and all, never help carry the luggage bags when we were moving around. u know i was quite shocked by his reaction. u see, all along during trip, he was the one rushing to carry the luggage. like when we just got off the tour bus, he immediately rushes to the door and gets the luggage etc. i was seriously in the state of wtf?? As i had put it then, "u ownself go and wayang and carry the bags, then nth for me to carry, then u get all angry at me for not being as wayang as u?" It did not make sense then it still does not make sense now. If u are so happy assuming responsibility, then y get so worked up?

In case you guys still dun get what i am trying to get, i just feel that perhaps my brothers still has this issue of the unresolved angst. perhaps he feels that i as the eldest brother am not fulfilling the role that he has in mind. perhaps he feels indignant that he is also washing my clothes with his.  I do not understand this at all. y would someone try so hard to be the first to volunteer to do something and then get angry over it? it is not as if i rejected his cry for help or refused to help or anything. it is really beyond me.

but then again, i could be thinking too much. which i doubt so.

some covers

hi guys, today was wai mun's birthday party and i got bored while waiting for kin and wei sian to arrive. And so i did covers of 3 songs! =) yea i know... they not 1 of the best covers around but hey, effort counts right? lol

oya i also used a headphone + mike set *its my brother's, dun ask lol* to record this time so that the audio is louder. does not necessarily make the audio better though. the headphone sux, i'm just using the mike.

lol i look kok eye, because of the freaking small words!!! but bo bian if not i will need to keep shifting down the tablature. also i realized that my voice is kinda low for this song *and the next*... dam! this song *and the next* is hard to sing!

i skipped out the one of the best verse of the song because i cannot sing two voices at once *go hear the original* =(

"Chaque fois que tu ton va
Je pretend que tu fois bien"

hehehe no more kok eye now... yea i'm awesome B-)

anyway i haven give up on the idea of forming a band yet but it is kinda diff to coordinate. everyone is busy on days others are free. kinda makes me want to whine about annoying this situation is but.... oh well....

song of the week

Till I get over you - Michelle Branch

everytime i feel alone
i can blame it on you
and i do
you got me like a loaded gun,
golden sun,
and skies so blue

we both know
that we want it
but we both know
you left me no choice

chaque fois que tu t'en vas
you just bring me down
je pretends que tout va bien
so I'm counting my tears
till I get over you

sometimes i watch the world go by
i wonder what it was like
to wake up every single day, smile on your face
you never try

we both know
we can't change it
but we both know
we'll just have to face it

chaque fois que tu t'en vas
you just bring me down
je pretends que tout va bien
so I'm counting my tears
till I get over you

if only i could give you up
would i want to let you
off of this soapbox, baby?

we both know
that we want it
but we both know
you left me no choice

chaque fois que tu t'en vas
you just bring me down
je pretends que tout va bien
so I'm counting my tears
till I get over you

chaque fois que tu t'en vas
je pretends que tout va bien

we both know
that i'm not over you

i'm not over you

omg i randomed this song and now its stuck in my head! quite an old song, was sent to me by traces in J1, but it is AWESOME!!! i especially like the part when she goes "you just bring me down~~" and the she just drops her pitch/voice/tone?? down all the waaay. why cant ppl do that without auto-tune nowadays??

yep as usual, awesome songs will be attempted to be played on the guitar. Some chords are pretty uncommon but not that tough =) maybe i will post another video soon lol

unfilial

I'm unfilial.

u better learn to treasure those around u.

there are some things that cannot be undone.

my parents have been very good to me.

and yet i still treat them so coldly.

when i see them, they are like strangers to me.

i cannot help it.

there is nth to talk about.

this habit/belief/value has been ingrained in me for so many years now.

they are strangers who treat me very well.

at times u are grateful.

other times u are weird out.

how do u respond to that?

how do u open ur heart to those that u have shut it off to?

how do u feel sorry for the ppl that u have despised since primary school?

the very ppl u have blamed for robbing ur childhood?

there are some things that cannot be undone.

but in the end, they are the ones who stayed with me.

my parents have been very good to me.

and i better learn to treasure them.

for they are the ones that will never leave me.

hopefully.

The silence isn't so bad
'Til I look at my hands and feel sad
'Cause the spaces between my fingers
Are right where you fit perfectly

It has only been a day but i miss my guitar. i was listening to my cache of music when i suddenly felt like playing the tune. i reached out to side of my bookshelf where i normally hang my guitar, only to grasp nothing but air. not being able to hear the voice of my guitar fills me with great sadness. so sad. so sad. its a sad sad situation =(

im so sad that i am blogging about my sadness.

----------------------------------------
*add* re tuned my old trusty rusty classy guitar for playing!! =)

awesome day. After school yi hui came my house to learn how to play the guitar. taught her some simple stuff and she seems pretty good at it! must be her experience playing the zhong ruan. anyway, i lent her my guitar till Friday to practice so that she can get a feel of how playing a guitar is before deciding if she wants to buy guitar for herself. hope she maintains interest so that i will have 1 more potential candidate for my band *in future tense*! =))

i look back at my previous posts and realized that i am reeking of negativity.temper has been short lately, losing my patience with many minor things. its as if my soul has fallen sick. when i blog i feel like typing negative stuff. other ppl's negativity are also affecting me more easily now. i laugh and smile and joke when i am out, but withdrawal symptoms start to set in after i go home. just feel like smt is missing. i suppose this illness will pass soon. its probably just the month u know? maybe its the side effect of the anti fungal medicine that i have been taking for a month. either way i had better keep my mouth shut this month, in case i start offending ppl. either way, pls keep negativity and stressful situations away from me, its more contagious than u think.

speaking of the fungal medicine, i went for my scheduled check up today. so far no new shrooms have been popping out so the doctor *and I* was quite pleased. He then said that he will treat me for acne now. 2 months treatment. he gave me new medicine, oral and topical, and told me to discontinue the treatment for fungus.

"after u start this medication, u will not get any pimples at all for the duration of the treatment." that statement made my day =)

anyway i am so glad that i can cease using the anti fungal body wash. not only do i have to apply it 2 times a day, the application of it is so freaking tedious. first u have got to take a bath, after which u apply it, and then leave it on for 10 mins. that is 10 freaking mins of standing butt naked in the toilet and counting the seconds. now imagine doing that early in the morning, say 6 30am.  when the time is up, rinse completely. yea easier said than done cos it has the texture of oil. after that i still have to wipe my body completely dry and apply another cream *yea, the doctor was not taking any chances when prescribing medicine* which also has the texture of toothpaste except oilier.

Come to think of it, that explains my lack of patience for the past few days...

P.S. realized that all my medicine have been labeled as poison, even the oral ones... cool! i'm taking poison! =)
*This is an old post*

i remember y i quit guitar ensemble in jc. the teachers and seniors there kept pestering me to keep practicing and memorizing stupid songs *chinese new year song wtf??*. I had no music background while most ppl who joined had at least some. well, i had memorized how to play the moonlight sonata during my spare time but that was it. besides it was just pure memory work. during the guitar sessions i felt pressured and demoralized. It was then that i told myself that i would never be able to learn how to play the guitar. It was then i quit. I then tried out CO playing the er hu for a while. after a while i gave that up too. Spending 2hrs + in a small room just practicing simple tunes that sounded like crap was not my cup of tea. I then convinced myself that i had no skill in music at all.

During the second year of my ns life, my frens suddenly started learning how to play the guitar. yea it was cool and i wanted to learn too. however i had already convinced myself that i had no skill in it, so i didnt try. well, other than randomly plucking strings to create dissonance noise and then calling it haunting music. after losing money from being scammed or by irresponsible ignorance, i grew weary of the tuition business so i decided to call it quits. I had nothing to do so i decided to spend my free time in camp learning how to play my first song on guitar "wonderwall"

the song sounded pretty good on guitar, and i was inspired to carry on. i took my old rusting classical guitar out of storage and practiced. whenever i was free i just took up the guitar and played it, be it in camp or at home. I was basically memorizing and it wasnt that easy, but there is smt about hearing urself playing pleasing music that makes u wan to continue. And so i played. from "wonderwall" to "i'm yours" to many other simple yet popular songs. Nobody wanted to sing with my guitar playing so i learned how to strum and sing at the same time. Slowly but surely, i improved and became wad i am today. Not good but not a biginner either. Basically a novice.

SO wad am i trying to mean here? basically today's events have lead me to recall how i picked up the guitar and so typed it out so that i can think clearer.

I had this idea of forming a band since the end of last semester. So i had made plans for ppl to try "jamming" in my house today after school. However they suddenly kept saying oh not free la next week then go, stuff like that. i was kinda irritated but i supposed it was my fault for not confirming again beforehand. anyway in the end they came my house. but the session was kinda a flop. some did not practice, others did not show interest. i was disappointed and annoyed at the same time.

However, it then came to my mind that these ppl do not share the same passion of forming a band as me. passion is impt. Passion was wad enabled me to start the tuition business. it was wad led me to continue playing my guitar although i sucked at it. it is passion that drives us to be great at things we thought is impossible. pressure by other ppl only serves to extinguish the fire, as my time in guitar ensemble had done. as much as i would like to share my excitement of creating a band to others, it is their own passion to contribute to the band that will be self sustaining and more effective.

So i have decided not to keep reminding ppl to practice or tell them to go someone's house to play together as a band. I do not want to be the one who kill off any existing passion for playing. I will merely suggest. if that suggestion makes ur senses tingle with excitement, then that will be great. if not, i will stay silent and wait, and look forward to the day u guys want to help me with my "band".

Summer has come and passed

*this is an old post*

September

The month that promises great things but then lets u down.

My birthday is coming soon. gonna turn 21 in a few weeks time. as i draw closer to the fateful day. my heart grows heavier. the year is ending and i am going to be a year older. what have i accomplished so far? And so i start to reminiscence about my past. present. future. In those days, no matter how bad i feel, there is always someone whom i can turn too. Basically they were my friends. it was motivating and spurring. but now, none of that remains. i may have more frens than before, but yet, it dosen feel the same. there is a fear in me that is slowly eating me. As i continue my path down memory lane, the more i feel that i am, and probably have always been, alone. I dun feel any sense of achievement. only a sense of emptiness as i realize what i have lost. broken dreams and broken relationships weigh my heart down and a certain fear starts to manifest. who can i really trust?

I am so fearful now that i totally reek of fear. why is the 21st birthday so important? why are ppl putting so much emphasis on it?? Why?? I dunno. i am not gonna have a celebration for my birthday. well, at least not a big 1. And the reason may be fck up but it is the reason. i do not wish to count how many ppl i truly trust now. i fear that if i do so, i may realize that there is actually no one. i want to believe that everyone i know is trustworthy. not everyone is only looking out for themselves and that everybody whom i deem a friend treats me as one too. Perhaps it is naive, perhaps its childish, perhaps i am just thinking too much. However just the thought alone makes me nauseous.

The more i think about it, the more i wonder if i'm are going crazy. therefore this is nth but a desperate bid to preserve my sanity.

September

please wake me up when September ends.

when i am busy and ppl ask me out, i do my best to say yes. i sacrifice my personal time such as exercising and playing games/guitar to go to these gatherings, and then when i am free, no one else seems to be. Not only that, but almost everyone has smt going on at the last min. not that i'm blaming anyone for being occupied 21/7. Its probably just me and that my whole life is just so slack and boring that i have to cater to ppl who are leading so much more meaningful lives than myself. Sure, gyming is meaningless. i mean how can it be compared to doing assignments, mugging, going out on dates and making money? there is nothing for me to be upset about right??  why, i am actually wasting my life away while others are actually taking up responsibilities and making the world a better place! why the hell am i even cursing, swearing and ranting?? In fact, ppl shld be upset with me complaining instead of counting my blessings! perhaps i shld just get a job, u know, a life or just mug my life away. perhaps i shld just shut the hell up and appreciate the slackness of my redundant existence. or maybe perhaps i shld just stop looking forward to our next meetings and assume that we are never going to meet again and be pleasantly surprised when we do.

blog stats

i was just checking on my blog dashboard just now when i suddenly noticed this option called stats. so i clicked it and whoa! there was a graph that showed the traffic since January. anyway it had a whole bunch of information like which post recieved how many views etc etc. but i tot the most interesting part was the audience section which u can see belowww *look down* *stop reading this paragraph* *its below! y u still reading this?!*

hey look! i have been visited by ppl from all around the world! lol. seriously, i doubt the accuracy of this information... anyway, it seems that internet explorer is the browser of choice, followed by.... navigator?? wth is that?? who the hell uses navigator??? lol! hmmm must be those ppl from china or russia.... moving on, we see the stats of pageviews by operating systems. 81% of views by windows *nodds approvingly*, then what the?? macintosh??? siew ling thats u right??? hahaha ok just kidding... dunno y i'm so bias towards apple. then after that is blackberry. must be wenhui i suppose..? right right?? hahaha then after that is other unix, which i supp refers to my android phone *android ftw!!* of cos this is all just speculation lol its kinda fun to guess who is using wad =D

Wad? im not even allowed to leave the room to go toilet without losing marks??? but i have a small bladder!! =/

mga202, basically managerial accounting, its kinda like a combination of econs and accounting. it is quite relaxed.... so far lol. i remember last sem, during the FIRST class of financial accounting, lecturer ended session by saying smt like "k guys that will be basically everything from chapter 1, 2 and part of 3, please go back and practice."

mgg, also called career planning, teaches us how to plan our career *duh* and write resumes and do interviews. other than the 3 hour session and the need to wear office attire, i dun really have any qualms bout it. just hope i dun need to cut my hair. please dun please dun please dun >.<

eehh i have another module called mgq but i have totally no idea wad its about. wai mun tells me that it teaches us how to use Microsoft office. lolwut u serious??? guess i will know when i attend the first lesson tmr =/

the story of my skin

warning: this is a very sick and boring story.

ok since the january i have been having these reddish bumps growing on my back. at first i tot it was regular back acne or something. no problem, nothing a little benzoyl peroxide cant handle right? wrong. because these these stuff started to spread like a wild fire. conquering every piece of skin they could find.

i was freaked out at first. so i showed that to my mum, who just told me to drink less of the protein supplement i was taking at that time. so yea since my mum didnt think anything about it so neither did i. i just left it there. slowly the bumps died down, leaving more and more black marks. It started to spread to the chest. for some reason my face did not get it. dunno. dun ask. dun care.

so one day i came back from the gym... or was it the stadium i cant remember. anyway i came back from exercise and took off my shirt to check out how my little frens were doing on my chest. my mum saw and was dam shocked. "wad happened to ur chest and back???" she exclaimed. i replied " oh this? i have been having it for quite some time already. i showed u before ma..." seriously. the last time i showed her she just brushed it off so casually. And so my mum immediately told my dad that we had to go see the doctor... IMMEDIATELY. no kidding she was this shocked. so i went to bath and visit the doctor, who told me it was some hair infection and gave me a 1 month supply of antibiotics which i was to complete and then return to get more.

that was about 1 month ago. i visited the doctor last week and my condition had not improved. so he referred me to the national skin center. which i visited today with my mum.

Now just to digress from this story, you may be wondering y my mum had to follow me to the doctor. well, most of u prob dunno and probably think i am joking even when if i told u. i have this weird phobia of seeing doctors. do u remember the feeling of taking oral examinations in primary school? yea primary school, when most of us *i presume* were balless and scared shit of the exam. that is how i feel whenever i visit a doctor. my pupils dilate and my heart starts pumping harder. Adrenaline starts coursing through my veins as the body prepares to either fight or flee. Ok... maybe not so exaggerated but u get wad i mean.

ok where was i? oh the skin center right. so i visited the specialist with my mum today. there were 2 other ppl in the room who i guess were medical students? they just sat there and stared at me. geez the atmosphere seemed so tense. luckily the specialist was a very smiley guy. he took a look at my chest and back and said that i have a bad case of acne. then my mum asked him are u sure its acne? then the specialist said "yup very sure, but we can do a scrapping skin test to rule out fungal infection."

ouch that sounds painful. but if it was anything like the cheek scraping microscope practical experiment we did in bio class it shouldn't be right? right??

so i went out to the waiting area and i wasn't long before i was called to enter a small room by an old man. he asked me a few questions and told me to lift up my shirt. he opened a drawer and took out 2 glass pieces that i recognize as some microscope thing and some other stuff which i couldnt tell wad its for. what was he gonna do? pierce my skin? peel off my skin?? he took a look at my chest and said "these are old ones do u have any which has pus coming out?" wow this old man is sick. then he suddenly said" oh there is a new one coming out! very fresh!"

as he said the word "fresh" i swear i could hear him smacking his lips. *like golem from lord of the rings movie going my preciousssss*

after that he returned to his drawer, took out a small pouch, and from it pulled out a fcking penknife blade!!! alarm bells were ringing in my head. wtf u have got to be kidding me. relax relax i told myself. probably just a tiny scrape, at most it will be like an injection " hold still ar...... this is probably gonna hurt u more than it will hurt me.."

i fainted.

okok i i did not really faint and he did not really say that. BUT he did say it was gonna hurt. and oh boy did it hurt. i did not really see wad he was doing *don't wan to* as i was lifting my shirt and looking away, but i can tell u how it felt like. it felt like he was using the penknife and making slicing my skin the way u slice ur sirloin steak. k perhaps SAWING is a better description after that he paused for a while.... and then continued wad he was doing. i SWEAR it felt like he was trying to saw off a piece of flesh or smt. after that he place it on that glass thing. i only saw blood. maybe there was some skin but i couldn't tell. he then turned to me and said:

"ok now ur back"

holy m..... so i went through the ordeal twice. and for some reason the one done on the back was more painful. after that he looked at my wounds for a moment, opened his drawer, took out some scotch tape thingy and taped my wounds. scotch tape not plaster. u could imagine the agony as i was trying to remove it just now. "there u go... it shld stop the bleeding." right. can i also give u a kick in the groin? it wun stop the bleeding but it will make me feel much better.

yea so anyway the results came out in like 20 mins or so and i went to visit the specialist again. "actually ur mum was right, its not acne. its actually some fungal infection" and so he gave me medication and cream and scheduled another appointment in 2 weeks time and i lived happily ever after?

THE END.

argh!!!

omg i am so tired but i am also soo PISSED!!!!!

after reaching home after my haircut, my dad told me that there is a letter from the government because i had defamed lee kuan yew. *turned out to be a lie* after that he and my mum started apprehending me. say what i shld not do such things cos my father is an authority in Media corp and will cause him to lose him job.

then i started asking them how they knew i had defamed lee kuan yew. my mum told me that it was my dad who told her. so i ask my dad. then my dad made some cock and bull story about being in the board of censorship. it is so obvious he was lying. it was either he had my blog address or my brother told him. i asked my brother and he said he did not even visit my blog.

i am so pissed that my parents did not want to admit wad they are doing. u think i am still a small kid u can bluff??

i gave u the chance to tell the truth and u did not make use of it. all those talks about trust in the family are all bullshit. u are basically the kind who will steal ur son's personal diary and keep reading it in silence. u have no respect for my and anyone's personal space and privacy. if u read my blog at least have the BASIC courtesy and respect to admit it when. maybe i will shift my blog .... or maybe i won't. but even if i did it is my own privacy i wan to keep separated from u.

holy shit and now boon comes and tell me tmr she cannot make it for the gaming session!!! arrrgggghhh!!!!!!!

i am so fcking tired and angry i cannot think straight!!!
dear fren

you dun have to so paranoid that authorities are constantly checking ur blog or chat logs.

just to prove the point

LEE QUAN YEW SUCKS!!!!!

now if i suddenly go missing u know why.

good day

ukelele stitch

FYI these photos were taken on Friday not Saturday, so i did not observe the YOG opening.

yea so i went marina square yesterday and caught more toys!!! i finally tried my hand at the legendary giant stitch machine and won! its actually easy *relatively* to catch once u know the trick ;)

as you can see, now i have papa stitch and xiao di stitch, as well as mei mei scrump and baby scrump =)

anyway, my contact lenses came yesterday and that is why i am not wearing spectacles in my pictures. 300 dollars for 1 year's supply. i spend an hour in the spectacles shop attempting to put on my contact lenses. it was EXHAUSTING to say the least and not to mention extremely demoralizing. in fact, halfway through, i was so pissed that i could not get my lens in that i tried forcing it in, which means i stuck my finger into my eye and tried to dig my eyeball out. of cos it didnt work. so in the end i was able to fit it in, but for some reason i could not see very well. throughout the night my vision kept blurring and sharpening. today i put it on again and the same thing happened. it like a camera with a broken auto focus function. now my eyes are so dam tired and dry =.=

haizzz stupid eyeballs.

hmmm ok and on Thursday, i went out with king, benjamin and wei sian to St Games in square2 at novena. No pictures but it was DAM fun. fun for all except king i guess cause he was sick. Thing is, you need to be a member to play there, and membership consists of a one time payment of 10 dollar. but the equipment there is very good! anyway i am so addicted to guitar hero. omg i am so going to go play again this week =D

btw i am so broke. can someone pleeeeaaassse buy the soft toys off me...?

step outside, cause summer time's in bloom

*crawls out of a hole*

hi guys its been a while =)

for those of you who dont know, i have been bedridden *voluntarily* since friday. basically wad i have been doing from friday till Tuesday was slp, wake up play harvest moon: innocent life *its not the same as the one wishxiong is playing lol*, slp, play a bit and repeat whole cycle again. of cos with shower, toilet and lunch breaks in between.

now seriously, harvest moon is a dam good game to kill time. play a while, feel drowsy because of repetitive work. sleep. wake up and continue. hmmm and that was basically my routine in camp the few weeks before i ord.

oh and i have a piece of advise for all you sickies out there *no doubt whom caught the bug from me hahaha!* .... do not eat drowsy medicine and attempt to stay up late! it is the cause of my splitting headaches!!

ANYWAY

Last Thursday was sort of celebration after all our finals. although i as feeling shitty as hell because of my illness and headache *see above for cause* it was still a great day because of this!!

yea!! thats the new toy i caught at marina square with only 3 tries! now my scrump is reunited with his friend!! *or master or whatever*

so yea these are all the toys ive won so far. except that small little greem scrump though, that was a gift from xiao mei mei wei sian.

oh and ive seen some dam nice photos in ur blogs so please pardon my non existent photography skills >.<

argh!!! so many toys!!! i have no space to keep!!! perhaps some1 would like to buy some off me...? =)

if not... i guess u can expect ur next birthday presents to be something very familiar hahaha!
